Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) - Perennial Live Plant
Common name: Spider Plant
Scientific name: Chlorophytum comosum
Description: a very resilient plant with long, ribbon like leaves that are a rich green with white stripes in the center. Spider plants have thick tuberous roots which naturally store water to help the plant survive in dryer conditions. This plant also produces 'spiderlings' which are offshoots with baby versions of the mother plant. This plant does well in bright, indirect light but can tolerate shade, and prefers a humid environment, however will tolerate a variety of conditions. These look great in terrestrial set-ups and offer great ground-coverage for inhabitants! We do want to mention that some species will nibble on the leaves and roots if planted directly into the tank’s substrate, so bare that in mind when choosing what plant species to use.Grown in 5.5cm pots.
